Special Instructions to the Invigilators – Duties of Invigilators
The following instructions are issued for teachers appointed as invigilators for public examinations. All invigilators must carefully read and follow these guidelines to ensure smooth and fair conduct of examinations.
Important Note
- These instructions are divided into two parts.
- Part-I contains general instructions applicable to all examinations.
- Part-II explains instructions related to coding and answer booklet handling.
- Invigilators must strictly follow all rules during examination duty.
- Any negligence may lead to disciplinary action and may affect student results.
Part – I : General Instructions
1. Appointment Order
Invigilators for examination centres will be appointed by the respective District Educational Officers (DEO). In emergency situations, the Deputy Educational Officer may appoint invigilators in consultation with the DEO.
The Chief Superintendent should not change or appoint invigilators without informing the DEO. Any changes must receive written approval.
2. Reporting for Duty
- Invigilators must report to the examination centre well before the exam time.
- They must attend the briefing given by the Chief Superintendent.
- All instructions regarding seating arrangements and answer booklets should be followed.
3. Responsibilities in Examination Hall
- Ensure students sit according to the seating plan.
- Distribute answer booklets only after instructions are given.
- Verify hall tickets of all candidates.
- Ensure no student carries unauthorized materials.
- Maintain strict silence and discipline in the exam hall.
4. During Examination
- Monitor students continuously.
- Prevent copying or malpractice.
- Do not leave the hall without permission.
- Report any irregularities immediately to the Chief Superintendent.
5. After Examination
- Collect answer scripts from all candidates.
- Arrange them according to roll numbers.
- Submit the answer booklets to the Chief Superintendent.
Important Reminder
Invigilators play a key role in ensuring fair and transparent conduct of examinations. Any lapse or mistake in following instructions may lead to serious consequences.
